Fantastic Festive Fun!!

Thanks to everyone who made this years Christmas Fair a huge success. 

A special thanks to the committee who planned the event, but also everyone who donated items, prepared prizes/stalls/classrooms, ran stalls and turned up on the night to make it a fun-filled festive frolic!?!
Thanks also go to the choir and drummers for opening our fair in such a fitting way.  And to the soloists - you were very brave and sang beautifully - well done.

Mr Croker is Jumping for Joy!!

Our fearless headteacher, John Croker, is putting his money where his mouth, has been certified fit (but possibly insane!) by medical professionals and has promised to undertake a bungee jump.

The 'jump' will take place on Saturday November 26th in Bristol.

To encourage Mr Croker in this feat, there will be a donations box in the School Office. The target is £434, equivalent to £1 per child in the school - so come on, show Mr Croker how brave/slightly crazy (delete as appropriate) you think he is, throw in your loose change/donations, then sit back and let him jump!

The children will be able to see a recording of the event

Not only do all the children look great in their Olympic themed photos, but all the essential school dates are pre-printed on the calendar - so you never need miss a coffee morning, assembly or cake sale or not know school term dates, including inset days.

Auction of Promises - Friday 18th November Come along and support this amazing event -
fun and fundraising at the Newbridge Auction of Promises.
See the hall transformed into an auction room, see a professional auctioneer at work, enjoy the fully licensed bar and nibbles and enter into the occasion and bid for some of the generously donated promises - including a children's wall mural, a dedication in a Rainbow Fairy book, a Forest School birthday party and many, many more - see this weeks NPSA news for more great promises.

NPSA Calendar

Don't forget that 17th October is 'Photo-shoot Monday', when each class will have their photograph taken for the NPSA Calendar which will go on sale later this year.

All children have been asked to wear a plain coloured t-shirt of their house colour and black shorts/trousers/leggings. To enhance the Olympics theme of this years calendar, children have also been asked to bring in trophies and medals and props for particular olympic sports. All Newbridge parents/carers are automatically members of the NPSA. We organise entertaining and fun fundraising events and work closely with the school staff to provide support for the school in practical ways.

BBQ Bliss
So, the weather was kind to us on Friday and the Family BBQ was a big success.

Huge thanks go to everyone who helped set up and clear away on the day - the BBQers, the barmen, 4B for their super Elderflower Cordial, all the helpers on the squash table, Jo and Hannah who ran the ice-cream stall, Mr and Mrs Cumpson and friends for the music, Mr Croker for running the Adventure Trail, Cherry and Malcolm in the office, for their help and patience and Lizzie for all her hard work in organising this event - and of course everyone who turned up on the evening - there was an amazing buzz on and around the grounds on Friday night.

This was a great community event.

Family BBQ - Friday 2oth May 5-9pm

We hope you are all looking forward to the Family BBQ.

We're anticipating/hoping for great weather - so bring your food tokens, picnic hampers, blankets, gazebos (if you wish) and a jumper for later - and relax and have fun with friends.

There will be something for everyone, with live music, Mr Croker's Adventure Play Trail Challenge and a reasonably priced bar.

Feel free to bring a football/outdoor toys to keep children (and adults) amused/entertained.

A huge well done to everyone involved in organising the Fashion Show which took place on Friday night. Special thanks to the lovely models, Mrs Houston, Simon the barman and everyone who helped on the night.
It was a big success and everyone appeared to have a great time.

Family BBQ - Friday 20th May 5-9pm
Families and friends of the school are welcome to join us at the Newbridge Family BBQ.

This should be a great evening, in the company of friends, with live music, delicious food, licensed bar, ice-creams and the infamous Adventure Trail Challenge!!

Please pre-order food using the tear-off stip from NPSA Newsletter (dated 6th May). You are welcome to bring along your own food/accompaniments too. Food tokens will be returned to you via your child's bookbag. Please bring these on the evening and exchange for your food.

Volunteers to help BBQ on the night are needed, as are the actual BBQ's.

Quiz Night Success

A great night was had by all at the annual Quiz Night last Friday. A whopping £1,568 was raised, which will go towards buying books for the school.

Years 2 and 5 will be providing the delicious cakes for the cake sale this Friday.

Come along for an after-school treat or two, or three .....

Wow, the last 2 terms were hugely successful in terms of fundraising - thanks to everyone involved in organising the Christmas Fair, the Calendar, the Lower School Nativity DVD, Christmas Discos, coffee mornings and selling fruit/misletoe.

And of course, huge thanks to all our families and friends who support each of these events.

Because of the amazing support given to the NPSA, we have been able to provide funds to the School for a multi-media system for the Lower School Hall, ride-on toys for the reception, the Storybox Theatre, wet weather clothes for reception and Y4 for forest school activities, football kit, basketball posts, school trips and a contribution towards costs for the choirs trip to the O2.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT.
